Owls hopes hit by O'Brien injury

The 26-year-old midfielder has torn a thigh muscle and will miss the crunch clashes with Leicester City and Norwich City.

"There's no chance of Burton O'Brien playing for the next couple of weeks," confirmed the Owls boss Brian Laws.

"We're going to have to play certain players even though they're not 100 per cent fit. They're going to have to fight through that barrier for the last two games.

"We've suffered so many injuries that I'm almost reluctant to train the players in case somebody else goes down. We'll deal with it, we'll get on with it."

Wednesday currently occupy the final relegation spot, one point adrift of Southampton.
