The former Doncaster Rovers winger, 29. has been linked with a transfer to Coventry City this summer.

"We can't say too much but we've had a bid from a club and it's been accepted. Nothing's done yet but Michael's talking terms with them," said the City manager Gary Johnson.

Roberto Di Matteo, the West Bromwich Albion boss, will not throw new signing Reuben Reid straight into the first-team picture at the Baggies.

Reid, 21, has signed a two-year contract after impressing with the League Two side Rotherham United.

Reid scored 19 goals for the Millers last season, having started his career with Plymouth Argyle.

"Reuben is a young, exciting, talented player. He has a lot of potential to improve," said Di Matteo.

"He scored a lot of goals last season and has a lot of pace. He will give us a different option.

"We have signed Reuben as a squad member and everyone is going to have to be patient as we slowly introduce him."
