The Owls meet Hartlepool in the League One play-off final at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, with the winner earning promotion.

Whichever side suffers heartbreak on the day will ply their trade alongside the Iron in League One next season.

Wednesday's following is one of the largest ever seen for a play-off final, and with 20,000 Pools fans expected to make the journey the game will be played in front of a bumper crowd.

"It gives us great heart to see such a response from our fans," Wednesday manager Paul Sturrock told the Press Association.

"There is going to be such a fantastic backing for us, it really will be like having a 12th man.

"They have played a massive part for us during the last few matches when we needed them.

"They came up with the goods then and I'm sure they will come up with the goods again."
