Still a chance of playoff spot

United are now two points behind that all important seventh place, with Rushen And Diamonds, Shrewsbury Town and Hartlepool United joining us in the race to join Rochdale and Mansfield (who now look likely to miss out on third spot) on the end of season playoffs.

Rushden And Diamonds could have guarenteed themselves a playoff spot yesterday, but suffered a surprising home defeat against Kidderminster Harriers - a side without a manager or anything to play for other than pride and new contracts.

Shrewsbury Town moved into seventh spot by virtue of a two goal victory over Southend United at Roots Hall.

Victories for the Diamonds and the Shrews next season would ensure the two sides take part in the playoffs, whilst also making sure that Hartlepool and Scunny can score ten goals each but still miss out on them.

Pool scored seven today against an abysmal Swansea City, if R&D or Shrewsbury Town slip up then it will be the Monkey Hangers who will be best placed to take advantage.

What does all this mean for us? Well, we need to win on Saturday and make sure we don't walk under any ladders on the way to the ground.
