Lee McEvilly fired the Dale ahead just seven minutes into their clash with Rushden And Diamonds at Nene Park, although Stuart Wardley went on to equalise before half time - heading home from a Paul Hall free kick.

Both sides would go on to score another goal in the second half, with Rochdale again taking the lead - this time through Paul Simpson.

The Diamonds equaliser came with quarter of an hour left, thanks to Gary Butterworth.

A strike from Eifon Williams moments before the break looked to have ensured the Monkey Hangers gain a 1-0 home win over Cheltenham Town.

However, the Robins weren't going to leave themselves it all to do in the second leg, and equalised iin the 89th minute through Neil Grayson.

Dale have two vital away goals to go back to Spotland with, whilst 'Pool must face the difficult prospect of having to win at Whaddon Road.
