Yeovil cut Iron lead to five points

With Ian Rush's Chester side holding the Iron to a 1-1 stalemate at the Deva Stadium, the Glovers' 4-1 win over the Robins saw them move to within five points of the top spot.

Martin Devaney had opened the scoring for Cheltenham at Huish Park, but goals from Kevin Gall, Phil Jevons, Arron Davies and Paul Terry ensured a win for the hosts.

Swansea City stay in third thanks to a 5-1 win over bottom club Kidderminster, whose relegation fate already looks certain.

Leyton Orient could only manage a draw against 10-man Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium. Robbie Ryan was sent off for the Pirates for deliberate handball after three minutes and Matthew Lockwood scored from the ensuing penalty kick.

But Jamie Forrester scored a penalty early in the second-half to rescue a point for Rovers.

Rochdale earned an impressive 3-0 win over Darlington at the Williamson Motors Stadium, with Grant Holt firing a brace.

Rushden and Diamonds played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Oxford at Nene Park, while former Iron target Fredy Eastwood scored the only goal in Southend in their 1-0 win over Wycombe.

Grimsby played out a goalless draw against Macclesfield at Blundell Park.

Four games were called off due to the cold snap: Boston v Lincoln, Bury v Shrewsbury, Mansfield v Cambridge and Notts County v Northampton.
