Yeovil defend their ambition

Mildenhall completed a free transfer move to Roots Hall on Sunday, saying that the Shrimpers were more ambitious than his former club.

But Martyn Starnes, chief executive of the Glovers, says the Huish Park outfit simply have to live within their means.

"We certainly don't lack ambition at all but we have to pursue success based on what we can afford," he told Yeovil's official website.

"We are confident that we can take this club forward, but we have to be prudent.

"There are teams in this division that have larger revenues and some are heavily subsidised. Clearly they can afford to pay more than us.

"Our aim is to build a young and vibrant team that can not only sustain our position in this league but take us forward over the next two or three seasons.

"We are excited and positive about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead to develop the club to the next level."
