Another Ex-Iron joins Exeter City

Walker was brought to Glanford Park by Brian Laws and he featured in our 1999 promotion campaign as well as the subsequent relegation.

He was released after our return to the third division and joined our neighbours from down the road Lincoln City.

The Imps however are skint, and needed to trim their wage bill as much as possible over the summer - with Walker one of the casualties.

After a summer with little speculation over his future he has joined Exeter after impressing while featuring for them in a pre-season friendly against Premiership WBA.

His new manager at St James Park is John Cornforth, who spent two unsuccesful months with us in the 1999-00 season, as well as Gareth Sheldon who he played alongside for us.

"He is already a very, very good midfield player and he can definitely get even better," was Cornforth's view of the player after he agreed terms.

"He's got a good pedigree and he has done well everywhere he has been.

"I've got a good squad now and it's important that there is competition for places."
