Graves will spend pre-season with the Cleethorpes-based club in a bid to earn himself a contract following his release from Glanford Park.

The Scunthorpe-born player was released at the end of last season after failing to make a first-team appearance in an injury-hit campaign.

Codfather Russell Slade told BBC Radio Humberside: "He's here because I'm looking at him at this moment in time.

"We shall have a look as the season and the pre-season progresses, and we shall give him his opportunity in one or two games."

United travel to Blunder Park on July 14 in a Lincolnshire Cup game, the first game of their schedule of friendly games ahead of the season opener at Brentford on August 6.

He joins fellow ex-Iron Terry Barwick, who signed for the Cods earlier this month.
