He made 14 appearances for Carlisle last season and is hoping to make more of an impact this term.
"I think we have a very good squad for this season, definitley as good as the Scunthorpe side that got promotion," he told Iron-Bru.net.
"Things are going well for me and the team, we're just training hard at the moment."
Taylor will make his first return to Glanford Park as an opposition player on Saturday September 13, with the league return at Brunton Park being played on Saturday March 14.
