Time for Woolford to spark revival

The play-offs have to be the main aim for us now, but with Leicester, MK Dons and Tranmere all to play in the final two months we really need a win against Huddersfield on Friday.

If we had have returned from Wembley with the meaningless Johnstone's Paint Trophy I would also have expected a bumper crowd, as it stands that may still happen but it would have been nice for United to slash the prices and attempt to push for a gate nearing that famous "sell out" Yeovil match when all looked rosy at the top of the league the Easter before last.

The fans that jumped on the Wembley bandwagon now need to be out in force supporting the club. The JPT had to be our secondary aim and now that is out the way the players need pushing to make sure we get over the finishing line in sixth place.

The team needs a shake up. And a big one at that. God forbid we will be without David Mirfin, he has been a rock lately and has been our most consistent player all season - my player of the year. A great buy and he will no doubt be itching to play against his former club with a few things to prove.

But elsewhere we need fresh legs, new ideas and hopefully get back to how we were playing. Martyn Woolford on the left with Henri Lansbury on the right could just get us back in form when we need it most. I have nothing against Kevan Hurst, I simply prefer Woolford and I'm praying he is given back his starting place on Friday.

It's time to drop Matt Sparrow also. Despite him looking lively just before he was substituted at Wembley, we need the energy of Sam Togwell and can hopefully revert to the style of play we were seeing early doors.

Jim Goodwin returns and I expect him to receive some rough treatment from Iron fans - (I reckon there'll be an extra couple of hundred on the gate after his antics at the Galpharm) and rightly so. As does Andy Butler, whose reception is likely to be mixed.

Ship out the deadwood and let us see some fast paced attacking football that we have seemed to forget about.

Come on you Iron!
